Thought for the Day

Thought for the DayMy girlfriend and one of my most valued associates forwarded this to me on Friday, but I thought I’d hold on to it until today. It seemed like a thought for a Monday, the day when most of us roll over to find our work week beginning again.

Even if you are one of the few 12% who love their jobs, every day still presents its obstacles. You may have a boss you swear is out to get you, an HR rep who thwarts your every move for advancement, or a little voice in the back of your head that whispers, “I’m just not good enough.” Whatever the origin of that little bastard, don’t let it grind you down!

Today is a new day! Whatever happened last week is over and gone. Start fresh. Declare today that you will not allow anything or anyone to grind you down.

You make the decision whether or not to allow any force to deter you from your path. Yes, life happens. No doubt about that. But you respond! Do you want to say, “Yes, please, more” when negativity tries to thwart you, or will you say, “Do your worst, but I’m going to do better!” I challenge you to do better, to expect better, and to demand better. Trials come and go, life would be utterly boring without them. Don’t give in, don’t give up, don’t let the trials conquer you. You may not know it yet, but you are made of sterner stuff. So when that boss or HR rep or little voice rears his ugly head, remember your motto for the day: Illegitimi non caborundum. (Latin is not dead.)

Have a fabulous day!
