LexiBoost: “Precarious” Every step matters

MC900334972By Eileen Ramos

Precarious (adj.): 1. Dangerously lacking in security or stability. 2. Subject to chance or unknown conditions. 3. Based on uncertain, unwarranted, or unproved premises.

“In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.”  – Benjamin Franklin

There are so many ways that you can mess up during a job interview:

  • Chewing gum
  • A wimpy or overenthusiastic handshake
  • Forgetting your resume at home, etc.

Nothing in life is guaranteed. You need to try your hardest to secure each and every step. Don’t drink something heavy like a big gulp before the interview. Get rid of that gum before you enter the room.  Practice shaking hands with people until you have a good, steady grip for a confident handshake. Double check your bag and make sure you have your resume handy. Don’t rush the morning of your interview otherwise you’ll be sure to forget something. Getting that job is not a sure thing so avoid silly missteps. It might be an employer’s job market right now but don’t let that deter you from reaching your career goals. Good luck!
