Nonplussed: (v. used with object) 1. to render utterly perplexed; puzzle completely. (n.) 2. a state of utter perplexity.
Has the challenge of this month got you wrapped up in knots? One it’s the Holiday Season and there’s so much joy and frustration wrapped up in that wonderful ball of excitement and shopping. Then it’s also Write Your Business Plan Month. I wonder which task has you more nonplussed.
In all honesty, neither needs to.
Give everyone a gift card to their favorite online merchant, including yourself. Get that Business Plan all wrapped in a bow just in time for the New Year… or at least get the ball rolling. There are many resources to help you think about how to accomplish your goals in this new season.
Maybe you aren’t an entrepreneur and the business plan isn’t what’s got you puzzled. Maybe it’s just daunting looking down the barrel of another aimless year. Don’t despair. Not everyone figures it out at the same time. I discovered that the Paramore song I’ve been rocking out to in Rock Band is lead by a 23 year-old who came to fame in her mid teens—woohoo! Great that she knew exactly what she wanted to do, and yes I’m disgustingly jealous. But you know what, we can’t all be precocious rock stars. Most of us have other talents and it might take a little longer to access them.
Nix the nonplussed and step into the New Year.
