Bowdlerize (v.): To remove material that is considered offensive or objectionable from (a book, for example); expurgate.
Not only do you have to remove the vitriol from your social networks, but untag and remove the drunk photos, the racy references and pictures, and other NSFW statuses and materials. Keep a separate professional account and privatize your personal profiles, banning access to all others except your friends. Don’t think that just because you have the freedom of speech on the internet, you will be free from negative consequences. Be careful with what you say, it might come back to bite you.
