What is Failure?

I can definitely tell you what failure is not. After many a conversation with a frustrated friend, co-worker, client (and myself), this small but important distinction has become clear: Failure and Walking Away are NOT the same thing.

So often we get it twisted. If we leave this company, we’ve failed. If we end this relationship, we’ve failed. If we stop looking for a specific job, we’ve failed. But really, have we? Failed?

Where is the success in being miserable?

I seriously don’t get it. If that company makes you want to jump off the Brooklyn Bridge… if that relationship gives you migraines… if that job really isn’t what you thought it would be… (read more)
