Day seven of the 30 Day Life Challenge…
What do you want to be?
So we are not in cahoots with Purdey’s energy drinks, but we couldn’t help but fall in love with the sentiment here: Thrive On.
When do we stop believing in dreaming? When do we decide that we are grown up and no longer have to think about our own goals and potential for different and more? Who said it’s ever too late to go for it (whatever it is)?
So today, on this seventh day of our 30 Day Life Challenge, we ask you:
What do you want to be when you grow up?
It seems like an absurd question at first, especially if you are over the age of 30. We make this assumption that we are already grown up and there’s not much to do from here but struggle on. But as the average life expectancy keeps increasing, and general health as we age keeps improving, the bounds on “grown up” aren’t what they used to be.
Who do you want to be?
Now of course, we aren’t talking about maturity level (as in “grow up already!”). No, we are talking about an ongoing willingness to think about your own potential, talents and desires and take action to become the person you want to be.
One of our authors writes about this in her upcoming novel: “What woman do I want to be?” It’s a question that plagues her character. She feels as if her life is passing her by and if she could just figure out the answer to this question maybe she could catch it and have a great ride. We think there is something here worth exploring.
Take some time today to think about it:
- Are you content with who you are?
- If not, what kind of person do you want to be?
- What do you need to do to get there?
And the most important question of all:
- Are you willing to do it?
If the answer to that last question is “yes,” then get started! Take one step before the day is out. It could be something as simple as a quick internet search or giving us a call. Whatever it is, do it. Procrastination is our worst enemy. And there is no better day than today to start down the road to who and what you want to be.
